Information “Mismanagement” for Your IG Program

Please note: This is an online-only meeting. The link will be sent to you after registration.

Unsure how to start, boost, or motivate your RIM and IG programs? George Despres will discuss how to use information “mismanagement” events as catalysts for launching and promoting your ethical information governance initiatives. “Mismanagement” is due to accidents, poor corporate processes and system controls, negligence, and malicious and criminal intent. While the frequency of mismanagement incidents should be appalling to info professionals, it paradoxically offers us a powerful tool for advancing our programs.

Despres will explain to meeting attendees how to communicate to senior executives that devastating headlines are never far away; and to corporate colleagues that information mismanagement is an epidemic with serious implications. This presentation will provide an analysis of info mismanagement in the aggregate. It will assess and categorize info mismanagement events as they relate to The Principles and how this relationship provides a foundation for more aggressively promoting the ethical aspects of RIM and IG within your organization. It will cover applications of mismanagement cases to IG communications, tailoring the message for specific audiences.

Join us and further your records and information management program with a better way to use incidents of Information Mismanagement.
